The beneficial effect of spices on human health is nowadays well-known and the consumption of spicy food is important both as prevention and as therapy.
The best way to benefit from them is using some spice during cooking, and some others raw, just before serving.

All spices have however a beneficial effect on the digestive system, regulating the bacterial flora; some of them, like laurel, are good to fight and prevent meteorism and to increase digestive system defences; some others, like cinnamon, help diuresis.
